Learning Resource Center

The KFS Library serves as a Learning Resource Center and plays a central role in our school community. All resources are used to promote literacy and facilitate teaching and learning of the IB programmes within our school. Some ways our library is used a resource center include:

• Providing access to resources that supplement student conceptual understanding in all subjects

• Supplying manipulatives that help scaffold learning by providing students with differentiated resources based on student needs

• Holding events and activities to for all students, staff, and parents in order to foster a sense of community within the school

• Supporting PYP and MYP units of inquiry through research support, inquiry, and innovation

• Developing essential ATL skills and Learner Profile attributes

• Utilizing technology to foster innovation and promote responsibility as a  digital citizen in the 21st century

• Teachers may work with the librarian to find mentor and anchor texts as well as to generate text sets for units of inquiry
